About

Our Origins

The annual Easter Tournament Games began in 1960 as a way to foster closer relations among the Chinese community in South Africa through the joy of sport. Regional teams competed in different sports disciplines, hosted across major centers such as Cape Town, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, and Pretoria. Over time, the tournament grew in popularity, welcoming international teams and strengthening bonds across borders.

Our Formation

In 1969, SACSA was officially established to promote amateur sports among Chinese communities and to standardize the rules governing the various disciplines. From the very beginning, SACSA recognized that sport is more than competition — it is a powerful means of building unity, friendship, and identity.
